CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR

Job Description

Purpose: 

As The Call Church is growing so are the demands for pastoral leadership in the church. The Executive Director position has been designed to assist the Senior Pastor and other staff members in fulfilling the ministry and mission of The Call Church by providing management for the business aspects of the church.  The primary responsibilities of this role will be to give oversight to the financial activities and facility needs of the Call Church and thrift store, and provide assistance to the hiring, evaluation and growth of the staff of The Call Church.

  • Meets the qualifications of a deacon according to1 Timothy 3:8-13. 
  • A commitment to the pastors and staff, supporting the vision and philosophy of ministry of The Call Church. (Connect, Grow, Serve, Reach, Worship)
  • Supports the ministry of The Call Church through regular prayer, financial giving, and attendance of church events. 
  • Must have strong communication and relationship skills with all age levels.
  • Agrees to the standards set in the The Call Church Staff and Volunteer Core Values.
  • Possesses the attitude of a team player and also demonstrates a teachable spirit.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial
    • Oversee all church banking and financial processes.

    • Oversee the church’s financial team.

    • Manage and oversee the development and administration of the budget, monitor and approve expenditures, and recommend adjustments as needed.  This includes both The Call Church and The Call Thrift Store
    • Work with ministry leaders to develop an annual budget at the beginning of the fiscal year. 
    • Present for Board approval any additional financial ministry needs that come up throughout the year that were not previously approved by the Board in the annual budget. 
    • Present a financial report at the monthly business Board Meetings. 
    • Present a 6-month budget review to the Board with recommended adjustments if needed. 
    • Manages all staff payroll, and other benefits, and communicate these with the finance team. 
  • Facilities
    • Oversee contracts, contractors/vendors, insurance plans, security, internet, and other services as needed for both The Call Church and Call Thrift Store.
    • Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and overall appearance of church’s property and facilities
    • Oversee and direct all building/property improvements, and expansion projects. 
  • Staffing and HR
    • Ensure all operations and risk policies and procedures are communicated, maintained, and administered. 
    • In partnership with the lead pastor, develops and conducts an annual review for all paid staff. 
    • In partnership with the lead pastor, oversees the administrative and financial aspects of hiring and compensation of all employees.
    • In partnership with the lead pastor, handles any staff challenges or needed disciplinary actions.
    • Keeps the church up to date with all laws and regulations affecting employment, insurance, and church property. 

The duties and responsibilities of this job description may be subject to change at the discretion of The Call Church Board. This position will start as a part time position of 20 hours per week. 

The pay for this position is still to be determined but will be based upon the individuals education and experience related to this position.
